Le Rocher de la Cave:
3-star campsite in the Dordogne
Welcome to all holidaymakers looking for a warm and friendly destination surrounded by nature. Whether you’re looking for a long break or a last-minute weekend away, on an adventure and need somewhere to stop or a regular visitor, our campsite surrounded by 4 hectares of woodland awaits you in the heart of the Périgord Noir.
Which type of camper are you?
Sun or shade? Pool or river? Quiet or lively? Whatever you prefer, nature awaits.
Living with nature
Pitch the tent, get out the stove and enjoy the Dordogne’s starry skies. Our campsite has naturally marked pitches, some with a view of the river. By camper, caravan or van, road trip enthusiasts are also welcome.
Reunite the tribe
Large family or large team, get the most out of your holiday by staying together. Our campsite has two connected lodge cabins that can accommodate up to 14 people.
Keep it comfortable
Which kind of atmosphere suits you best? Mobile home, lodge cabin, tent with or without sanitary facilities? The experience will differ depending on your choice, but all our accommodation options have one thing in common: a superb natural setting.
From your accommodation to the river, it’s just a stone throw away!
Everyone in the water! Located on the banks of the Dordogne, opposite the Turnac cliff, Le Rocher de la Cave Campsite provides access to a beautiful beach. Bathing in fresh water, an exceptional natural setting: what more could you ask for? A canoe descent perhaps? Hire your canoe directly from the campsite and explore the Périgord Noir (Black Perigord) on the water.
Your holidays at Le Rocher de la Cave
Fancy a romantic weekend away? Take advantage of the low season to spend some quality time together. In May and June, our campsite is a quiet and peaceful destination. During the high season, life is in full swing. Families fill the grounds. A friendly atmosphere reigns in the campsite and livens up the summer evenings. Depending on the dates of your stay, different services are available.
Aquatic area
The heated pool and a relaxation area are open throughout the season – All the ingredients you need to enjoy your holiday to the full!
And there’s plenty for the children to do too. They can head to the paddling pool and water play area to splash around with new friends.
3-star services
The reception is open morning and afternoon. You will find a grocery store, with everything you need to tie you over. Fresh bread and pastries are available every morning.
The bar-restaurant is open from mid-June to mid-September. Périgord specialities and views over the Dordogne are on the menu.
Laundry room, skatepark, trampolines and sports areas are just some of the services available throughout the season. The campsite has, of course, the essential pétanque pitch and, as a nice little extra, a mini farm, which is very popular with children.

The best of the Dordogne and Périgord Noir
Le Rocher de la Cave Campsite is well situated in Carsac-Aillac. The village, just a few minutes’ walk away, has all the shops for everyday needs.
Amongst the historical sites nearby, discover the town of Sarlat, accessible via the Green Way Path, as well as La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Domme and many other beautiful and picturesque villages. There are also many medieval castles in the Périgord.
The Dordogne also has some superb caves, chasms, and other rock cavities to visit. Amongst these prehistoric sites, the Lascaux cave is less than an hour from the campsite.
A campsite like no other
Le Rocher de la Cave Campsite first opened in 1982. Years of welcoming campers have shown us one thing: whilst every camper’s experience is unique, there is something here that brings everyone together.
At our campsite, especially during the high season, the tranquillity is replaced by a warm and friendly atmosphere. New friendships are made. And some of them last a lifetime! We love witnessing these beautiful reunions year after year.
