Our campsite in the Dordogne with swimming pool
Welcome to one of the most beautiful parts of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region: the Dordogne. Here, lush greenery intertwines with France’s rich history. The Périgord Noir offers holidaymakers sublime landscapes, and its summer climate ensures a beautiful holiday getaway. And what better a place to experience it all with family or friends than at Le Rocher de la Cave campsite? Our heated swimming pool and water play area with water jets in the water play area are perfect ways to cool off. Not forgetting, the river, which is also very much part of your stay at our campsite.
Everyone in the water! Head to the swimming pool
Our heated swimming pool, water play area and sun deck are open all day! You could spend your entire holiday getaway by the water perfecting your tan.
Conveniently located in the heart of the campsite, the pool area is just a short stroll from your mobile home and all our accommodation options. Are you the kind of person that gets lost easily? Just follow the campsite map – Every path leads to the swimming pool!
The joys of the swimming pool for the children
The swimming pool is accessible to all children of all ages. A paddling pool is also available for toddlers. Always under the watchful eye of their parents, the youngest children can also enjoy the joys of the swimming pool in complete safety.
A heated swimming pool throughout the season
Whilst long holidays are ideal for enjoying the campsite, weekends also offer a chance to unwind. If you live in Nouvelle-Aquitaine or the Occitan region and are looking for somewhere to enjoy the long days in spring, our campsite is the perfect destination. Even during the low season, when it’s still a little chilly outside, the heated swimming pool, allows you to take a pleasant dip and witness the landscapes of Dordogne come alive after winter. And where could be a better place for it?
Water play area and games for children
In addition to the heated swimming pool, our campsite has a water play area! Whilst there aren’t any water slides, we have a splash zone with water jets for hours of fun. Kids can splash around, spray at one another, dodge the jets, and between two happy squeals, make friends. Afterall, what kind of camping holiday would it be without making new friends?
Meanwhile, parents can relax and chat about activities and share their favourite barbecue recipes. These moments are what spark the lasting friendships that make our campsite so special. Some of these friendships, like the castles of the Dordogne, withstand the test of time.
Swimming pools and lounging under the sunny skies of the Dordogne
Camping is synonymous with relaxation. Imagine yourself after a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, unwinding on a sun lounger. Pick your perfect spot to relax: prefer to cool off with frequent dips? The poolside is ideal. Want to escape the splashes and soak up the sun? We have a grassy area for that too.
The Dordogne sun can be merciless. If you prefer to rest in the shade, retreat to the pergola of the sun deck, partially covered by lush vegetation. Located just above the pool, this space also offers a perfect vantage point for keeping an eye on your children wherever they are: in the swimming pool, paddling pool or water play area.
Swimming pool parties under the starry skies of the Périgord Noir
What would a campsite be without some evening entertainment? When the nights get warmer, our campsite organises unforgettable pool parties. The DJ sets up his turntables, puts on a light show and everyone gets their groove on in the water: children, teenagers, parents…The party is a hit when the swimming pool overflows and laughter blends with the music.

Camping and nature: the perfect holiday
For a holiday that combines nature and heritage, the Périgord Noir is a must-see destination in the Dordogne. Its historic villages are classed amongst the most beautiful in France. Its castles, like guardians overlooking the river, will transport you into the region’s medieval past. In such a setting, the most suitable accommodation options are those where you can be at one with nature. It’s no surprise that star-rated campsites are popping up all over the department.
Le Rocher de la Cave is amongst the best situated campsites in the Périgord Noir, offering easy access to both La Roque-Gageac and Sarlat. Even if your stay is only for a few nights, you will have time to admire the treasures of the Périgord.
